SUMMARY:Seminar: Private Sector as a Force Multiplier in Anti-Illicit Trade
Efforts: Examples from the Real World
DESCRIPTION:Illicit trade endangers consumers by exposing them to inferior,
noncompliant products, deprives governments of much-needed tax revenues,
fuels criminal organizations while facilitating other serious crimes, and
harms legitimate businesses. Collaboration across the public and private s
ector is critical to fighting illicit trade, protecting communities, consu
mers and industry, and upholding public security.\n\n\nUsing what PMI U.S.
has learned from actual investigations with local, state and federal law
enforcement partners as case study examples, this session will provide att
endees with real-world best practices for how the private sector can suppo
rt law enforcement anti-illicit trade actions.\n\n\nThe session will highl
ight the importance of collaboration while emphasizing the value of inform
ation sharing and the private sector’s role in engaging and assistin
g law enforcement. Topics addressed will include private sector investigat
ions, lead generation, technical support to law enforcement, and assistanc
e during prosecution/litigation.\n\n\nhttps://nsaconf.org
