SUMMARY:Seminar: Eyes in the Sky, Trust on the Ground: Why Sheriffs Must Le
ad the Drone Era
DESCRIPTION:Sheriffs today face growing operational demands, expanding juri
sdictional responsibilities, and increased expectations for transparency,
accountability, and effective service delivery. In that environment, drone
s are no longer an emerging capability. They are becoming an essential too
l for modern sheriff’s offices.\n\n\nDrones are helping agencies imp
rove response times, enhance deputy safety, expand reach across large and
rural jurisdictions, strengthen situational awareness, and make better use
of limited personnel and resources. They are also proving valuable in cor
rections settings through perimeter monitoring, facility security, inciden
t response, and contraband awareness, and in border regions by supporting
surveillance, interdiction efforts, and real-time operational intelligence
.\n\n\nThis session will feature sheriffs with some of the most active and
robust drone programs in the country, including Sheriff Michael Mastronar
dy of Ocean County, New Jersey; Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn of Wood County, Oh
io; and Sheriff Joseph Lopinto of Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, sharing how
they are using drones to strengthen operations, improve safety, support c
orrections and border security missions, and deliver measurable value to t
heir agencies and communities.\n\n\nhttps://nsaconf.org
