Updated language proposed: The Association shall include the following standing committees: Audit Committee, Budget Committee, Conference Committee, Committee of State Sheriffs’ Associations, Past Presidents Committee and Constitution and Bylaws Committee.

Article X, Standing and Other Committees, Section 4(b) – Audit Committee
Updated language proposed: The Audit Committee shall meet at least annually at the Association’s Corporate Offices or virtually and shall conduct a random audit of the Association’s financial accounts, operational policies and procedures, equipment assets and travel expenses of any employee or board member of the Association as the Audit Committee deems reasonable and necessary.

Article X, Standing and Other Committees, Section 7 – Constitution and Bylaws Committee
The Constitution and Bylaws Committee will act as an advisory committee to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the National Sheriffs’ Association on proposed amendments to the Constitution and Bylaws as delineated in Article XV.
The Committee shall be comprised of a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and three (3) additional members as appointed by the President each year immediately following the Annual Conference of the Association. The NSA Executive Director and/or Deputy Executive Director shall be non-voting, ex officio members of the Committee. Other members may be appointed to the Constitution and Bylaws Committee at the discretion of the President; however, these additional members hall be non-voting members of the Constitution and Bylaws Committee and shall not count in determining a quorum for meetings of the Committee.
