Garrett Ripa

Director (Ret.) - ICE Field Office

Garrett John Ripa is a retired federal law enforcement executive with nearly three decades of experience in immigration enforcement, public safety operations, and field leadership. He most recently served as Field Office Director for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations’ Miami Field Office, where he oversaw operations across Florida, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Migrant Operations Center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Mr. Ripa began his federal career in 1996 with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service as a Detention Enforcement Officer in Miami, Florida. He was later promoted to Deportation Officer and continued to rise through the ranks following the creation of the Department of Homeland Security and ICE. Throughout his career, he held several leadership roles, including Supervisory Detention and Deportation Officer, Assistant Field Office Director, Deputy Field Office Director, and Senior Executive Service member. During his career, Mr. Ripa earned recognition for his work with ICE Attaché Offices, Fugitive Operations teams, and nationally recognized programs supporting enforcement and removal operations. As Assistant Field Office Director, he also served as the Union Liaison for the Miami Field Office, representing management in union relations and negotiations.
