
James Cormier
ORS HIDTA National Coordinator - High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA)
James Cormier is the National Coordinator for the Overdose Response Strategy (ORS) under the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program. In this role, he leads national coordination between public health and safety agencies to reduce drug overdoses through data sharing and evidence-based strategies. Previously, he served as the Drug Intelligence Officer for Massachusetts with the New England HIDTA. A 33-year veteran and former Chief of the Reading, MA Police Department, Jim has held leadership roles with the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission and the Northeast Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council. He holds a master’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration, is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, and completed executive training at the Harvard Kennedy School. Jim enjoys family life and stays active with pickleball.
