Kym Craven is a recognized leader in law enforcement recruitment, hiring, and retention with a 36-year career starting at the Lowell, Massachusetts Police Department. She has assisted over 400 agencies and organizations—including major cities and state agencies—in strategic planning, organizational assessments, officer wellness, violence reduction, staffing analysis, and community engagement. Kym has led national initiatives to increase and support women in law enforcement, serving as an expert on projects like NIJ’s From Research to Reality and ASPIRE. She frequently speaks at national and international conferences and is published by the IACP on recruitment, retention, and mentoring. She holds a BS in Criminal Justice from the University of Lowell and an MA from Anna Maria College, along with multiple certifications in policing and emergency response.
